Vision
Project seeks to create in-depth, investigative photographic
documentations that require longer periods of time to produce
because of their complexity and scope. The chosen subject
matter will serve as a microcosm that illuminates many of
the more universal concerns faced by our society. Our goal
is to provide insights and perspective. The key to understanding
lies in awareness.
Vision Project
will work to help facilitate projects on its own or work in
conjunction with schools, universities, other research organizations,
foundations, scholars and/or individuals who have a clear
and independent vision in line with Vision Project's values.
VP has already worked with several organizations focusing
on issues of mutual concern to both of us. To date, these
organizations are:
*
Doctors Without Borders
* Global Vision
* The Hunger Project
* International Rice Research
Institute
* Music Therapy
Institute
VP's main areas
of focus for the next two years will revolve around:
(1)
Health Care, Medicine & Healing
(2) Hunger
and Its Dependence on Rice Production in Asia.
(3) Art
as Therapy
We will also work
on other projects that focus on issues, research and/or investigative
journalism related to the concerns of VP's mission.
VP will work directly
with individuals, groups, institutions, etc. to photograph
and document programs they run, sponsor or have interest in.
VP is very interested
in working directly with writers, scholars & other academics
on larger in depth projects where the ultimate goal is to
produce books or other kinds of documentaries.
VP will make a
special effort to work with NGO's and other Non Profits to
help them document their programs and work.
All of our documentaries
will first find outlet in our online galleries or magazine,
Witness. The images and material will be integrated into our
archive and made available for public research and usage.
We plan to actively pursue other outlets for the material:
books, magazines and periodicals, news organizations, research
& cultural centers, educational institutions and exhibitions.
We hope to be a source of information and material for academics,
writers and scholars working on parallel projects. The material
will also be utilized by our education program and presented
at seminars, lectures and workshops, etc.
